Sweet Heat Miami 2012 Workout Regiment

SweetHeat Miami 2012
Since the middle of last week I began a rigorous exercise and diet program to drop some unnecessary weight on my body. The only thing to thank for my mental focus and determination is a trip I will be taking to Miami, Florida in the first week of May.

For the diet, I purchased GNC Lean Meal Replacement Shakes which I take twice a day. I also purchased a natural dietary supplement from GNC called Conjugated Linoleic Acid or CLA. "Linoleic acid may help your body increase muscle and decrease fat deposits. It can be helpful for diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, skin disorders, and immune function. Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is an enzyme that breaks down fat you eat and stores it in your body. CLA hinders LPL, so your body stores less fat. CLA also helps destroy fat cells before your body stores them, and it helps turn fat into energy." I am also taking a standard fish oil for overall health.
A friend of mine recommended this to me, and I hoping to see some results in the month I have to drop the weight.
Alongside these supplements, I also consume 2 small meals per day of either fish, lean white meat chicken, and vegetables. I have cut carbohydrates as well as refined sugar. I stick to water, green tea, and seltzer water. If I am consuming alcohol it is NOT beer.
My workouts consist of 30-45 minutes of cardio: cycling, running, elliptical machine. As well as 30-40 minutes of weight lifting alternating between upper body and lower body. I try to workout the abdominal muscles everyday. On Saturday and Sunday, I go for 2-a-day workouts, by hitting the gym in the morning and going for a jog in the afternoon. Monday is my rest day. I also make sure to get 7-8 hours of sleep every night.
I am taking this so0 seriously.
What do I miss since beginning this diet? Mexican food. I love tacos, guacamole, and quesadillas.
What do I do to curb cravings? Nothing really. I am so determined to drop this weight for Miami that I don't even really need help saying "no". Last night I had a dream that a friend of mine wanted to go to a fast food restaurant, and I was so upset because it's fattening. Then I woke up in a frenzy as if I had eaten the food. Unsure if I'm becoming obsessive or if my waking life is taking over my subconscious.
Will I continue to go this hard after my trip?  Hell yes! I love being healthy and I feel positive by just changing my eating habits and working out.

The reason for my trip to Miami is a little event called Sweet Heat Miami. This will be the 5th anniversary of the celebration, and I am MORE than excited to be taking this much needed time off for fun in the sun! There will be NO resting or relaxation during this trip. That is ONE thing I can guarantee.

Excited does not describe it, and motivated cannot really cover how focused I am.
Hopefully, I'll have some cliche weight loss before and after photos in the upcoming posts.
