Election Day 2012: Obama Biden

The time has come again for Americans to cast their vote for the President of the United States.

Based on the title of this entry, it's no secret who I'm voting for. Based on the content of this site, there shouldn't be any doubt.
I had a conversation with a good friend yesterday about voting and the meaning behind it. Although many feel that it does not really matter who the people elect because it is decided by the electoral college, it is still our civic duty to participate. Over the last month we have seen these two men verbally duke it out over foreign policy, war, economic stability, health care etc. Yet, for most of us our choice was decided long ago.

Based on the character of the man, the policies which have effected me and faith, I know that our current President is my one and only choice.

1. Through ObamaCare, I and millions of others below the age of 26 have been covered by our parents healthcare plan. With my current employer, healthcare is non-existent without paying a hefty fee that would leave me broke.
2.  President Obama has openly supported gay marriage, which is a civil right above all other opinions on the matter.
3. Through gender equality acts, our President has taken measures to ensure that I am not paid less than a man with the same qualifications as me.
4. Middle class tax breaks will enable my parents and myself more leeway to make financial decisions without being overtly burdened by taxes. Although my reasons for supporting the current President do not include reasons like foreign policy; I am sure he can handle these matters peacefully.

Chalk it up to a lack of culture, but the above mentioned reasons alone efficiently support my choice.
